Questions

Everything borrowers ask us

Straight answers. If something depends on your lender's discretion, we say so.

What is loan settlement?

Loan settlement is a process where you negotiate with your lender to accept a reduced amount to close your loan account permanently, instead of paying the full outstanding balance.

How does the settlement process work?

After you apply, we assess your case, submit documents to your lender, and negotiate the best possible waiver. Once agreed, you pay the settled amount directly to your lender and receive a No Objection Certificate.

Is loan settlement legal in India?

Yes, loan settlement is a legally recognized practice in India. Banks and NBFCs have settlement policies, and RBI guidelines also recognize it as a resolution mechanism.

How much can I save with settlement?

Typical settlement waivers range from 30% to 70% depending on your loan type, outstanding amount, payment history, and lender. We aim for the maximum possible waiver.

Will settlement affect my credit score?

A settled loan is reported to CIBIL as 'Settled' rather than 'Closed'. This may impact your credit score for up to 3 years, but it is significantly better than continued default or legal action.

Do I need to pay anything upfront?

We charge a transparent onboarding fee (default ₹3,000) for case setup and documentation. This fee is quoted before you sign any agreement. The settlement amount is always paid directly to your lender — never through us.

How long does the settlement process take?

The process typically takes 30-90 days from document submission to account closure, depending on the lender and complexity of your case.

Can I settle all types of loans?

Yes, we handle settlements for personal loans, credit cards, home loans, vehicle loans, business loans, education loans, and app-based loans.

Will the bank stop calling me during settlement?

Once your settlement application is under review, the bank should pause recovery actions. If calls continue, we can help document violations through our Anti-Harassment Service.

What is the Anti-Harassment Service (AHS)?

AHS uses unique call-forwarding technology to intercept recovery calls, document harassment, and get our experts to intervene with evidence-backed complaints to your lender.

What is the Lawyer Intervention Service (LIS)?

LIS provides on-ground legal protection when recovery agents visit your home or workplace. Available in Delhi NCR, our panel advocates handle the legal intervention directly.

Can I get a settlement if I'm paying EMIs?

Yes, if you're facing genuine financial difficulty, we can still negotiate a settlement. However, lenders typically prefer settlement only after payments have stopped for some time.

What documents are required for settlement?

Typically: identity proof, address proof, income proof (salary slips or ITR), bank statements (last 6 months), loan account statement, and a hardship letter explaining your financial situation.

Can I negotiate directly with my bank?

You can, but professional negotiation typically yields better terms. Lenders have dedicated settlement desks, and our experts know how to present your case effectively.
